Mr. Berkley is the Founder and CEO of QMIND. Previous to
launching QMIND, Mr. Berkley was a founding member of Kaiser
Permanente's national e-learning development department. Under
his technical direction, the department quickly grew to $2MM
in revenue in its first year from e-learning development services
to internal Kaiser Permanente departments. Mr. Berkley designed
Kaiser Permanente's web-based training architecture currently
in use by over 150,000 employees. Mr. Berkley also built the
company's first standards-compliant Learning Management System
to manage and track e-learning courseware. Mr. Berkley holds
a BA from Middlebury College.
Mr. Cortelyou has been investing in and advising technology
companies since his retirement from IDT in 2001. During his
nearly 20-year tenure at IDT, a major semiconductor supplier,
Mr. Cortelyou held various engineering, managerial and executive
positions. Prior to joining IDT he was an engineer for Advanced
Micro Devices and he received his Bachelor of Arts degree
in Physics from San Francisco State University.
Mr. Karl is co-founder of iovation, an Internet authentication
and fraud management company that is the world’s foremost
authority in device reputation...now securing over 100 million
transaction every year. Before iovation, Mr. Karl was co-founder
of ieLogic, a Portland, OR start-up providing technology infrastructure
for the Massively Multiplayer Online Game industry. ieLogic’s
game platform was sold in 2004 to Excapsa Software (LSE: XCP).
Prior to ieLogic, Mr. Karl's management background was in
the creative and financial services industries, and he has
served on the boards of several non-profit organizations.
Mr. Berkley’s career has spanned three decades of
managing successful Silicon Valley venture capital backed
start-ups in the computer peripherals industry. He was Chairman
and CEO of Quantum during the period when it grew to become
the world’s largest supplier of hard disk drives and
when Quantum ranked as one of the fastest growing technology
companies in the world. Steve has served on the board of several
software companies and non-profit organizations over the last
10 years. Mr. Berkley earned his BA degree (economics) from
Colgate University and his MBA from Harvard.
