Partnership with Symmetry Services Group to Serve E-Learning Needs of Government Agencies
Washington, DC, August 8, 2006 -- QMIND, a leader
in design collaboration software for rich media and
instructional content, today announced that its flagship
product, the QMIND Design Collaboration Platform, is
now available for purchase off of the federal government
GSA schedule.
By using the QMIND Design Collaboration Platform, these
agencies in conjunction with their prime contractors
will be able to become more efficient in creating electronic
training content with the participation of distributed
teams.
Federal agencies have embraced e-learning technology
in order to improve efficiencies in government for the
training of personnel. QMIND has partnered with Symmetry
Services Group located in the Washington D.C. area to
list QMIND software and services on the Symmetry GSA
schedule. By having QMIND on Symmetry's GSA Schedule,
federal agencies and their contractors will save time
and money in gaining access to QMIND's products and
services to pursue e-learning projects.
"Public sector organizations have embraced automation
of training based on the need to demonstrate specific
job skill attainment," said Michael Berkley, President
and CEO of QMIND. "By using the QMIND Design Collaboration
Platform, these agencies in conjunction with their prime
contractors will be able to become more efficient in
creating electronic training content with the participation
of distributed teams."
For instance, the FBI offers more than 2,500 courses
to its 30,000 employees, and has seen tremendous benefits
from e-learning. The FBI's Virtual Academy is available
to employees on their desktop computers, and it includes
performance support tools and instant advice for managers
who need information about dealing with different situations,
said Jim Trinka, the bureau's assistant director of
training and development. (FCW.com, August 29, 2005)
The recently announced QMIND Design Collaboration Platform
Summer 2006 Release (see separate QMIND press release
dated July 31, 2006) has extended the core QMIND software
capabilities for storyboarding content, review collaboration,
and production automation. With this release, public
sector agencies will be able to streamline the creation
of new content and enhancement of existing content using
QMIND's new capability for automating the conversion
of Microsoft Word documents into interactive FLASH multimedia.
QMIND also has concurrently created an open API to FLASH
enabling extended multimedia production capabilities
using QMIND for government e-learning projects.
"QMIND significantly reduces time-to-delivery
by fostering collaboration among distributed teams throughout
the entire design and approval workflow," said
William Fowkes, President of Symmetry Services Group.
"The government market also values that QMIND is
available as a web-hosted service or in an enterprise
server edition which can address security requirements."
Pricing and Availability
The QMIND Design Collaboration Platform Summer 2006
release is available immediately for public sector organizations
from the Symmetry Services Group GSA Schedule #GS-35F-0171S.

Portland, OR, August 1, 2006 -- QMIND, Inc. today
announced the Summer 2006 Update release to its Design
Collaboration Platform, used by e-learning and creative
design professionals to streamline team-based content
development and management. The update includes several
new multimedia production capabilities, an open Flash
API, and usability enhancements.
Originally released in October of 2005, QMIND's design
collaboration software addresses struggles that are
commonly faced by e-learning and marketing design teams:
improving collaboration on storyboard design, managing

speeding production of storyboards into interactive
Flash content. QMIND offers its web-based platform on
a per user subscription basis.
Some of the new features in the update include: conversion
of MS Word documents into interactive Flash multimedia,
enhanced tools for creating non-linear (user-driven)

to extend the multimedia production capabilities of
QMIND.

possible with web-based applications," said CEO,
Michael Berkley. "The power of QMIND’s server-based
multimedia production engine rivals that of desktop
production tools and beats the pants off of traditional
enterprise content management systems. This gives distributed
project teams a huge advantage in both content quality
and time-to-market."
The release of this product update follows an extensive
QMIND customer feedback program, involving interviews
and focus groups. "It’s critical that we
give our customers the loudest voice in determining
product direction and enhancement," said Kim Ramage,

design collaboration software for e-learning design
teams, was listed this week by TrainingOutsourcing as
one of the top 20 providers in the e-learning market.
As more organizations struggle to create and maintain
current e-learning and training, third party suppliers
become a critical component for controlling quality
and cost. TrainingOutsourcing’s annual list recognizes
leading training outsourcing companies for their high
quality of services and comprehensive capabilities.
All have demonstrated expertise and experience in managing
major business process outsourcing engagements as well
as creating a significant impact on the industry.
QMIND's on-demand solutions have proven to dramatically
reduce time-to-market of mission critical training content
for corporations with geographically distributed teams
as well as those that partner with outsource agencies.

possess unique capabilities. They have demonstrated
an ability to add business value through innovative

they experienced first hand within large enterprises
and design agencies. QMIND’s web-based software

of instructional multimedia content. The solution dramatically
reduces costly delays and endless rework of web-based
training and marketing content, and makes it possible
for design teams, who are often distributed geographically,
to streamline content development.

QMIND targets the federal government
market for e-learning WASHINGTON, D.C., January
17, 2006 — QMIND, the leader in on-demand e-learning
authoring solutions, today announced the strategic alliance
with Symmetry Services Group, a woman-owned small business
in Vienna, Virginia. Based upon customer statistics,
it is estimated that the federal government can save
over $4,145 per employee or contractor, per month, by
using the QMIND platform.
The CEO of QMIND, Michael Berkley, said, “At
a time when the federal government is looking for ways
to reduce costs and increase individual productivity,
all of us at QMIND are excited about having a qualified
government reseller in the Washington, D.C. area. By

deliver products via our ASP model while knowing our
federal government customers will receive outstanding

The QMIND platform is a web-based e-learning authoring
system that streamlines the development of online training
programs. The platform provides an “anytime, anywhere”
shared workspace for all government team members and
outside contractors, no matter where they are located.
In addition to facilitating collaboration, the platform
automates many authoring and multimedia production processes.
According to IDC research, government spending on e-learning
development tools has been growing about 30% each year
since 2002 and is projected to continue at that level
through 2008.
Bill Fowkes, the President of Symmetry Services Group
said, “QMIND software truly adds value to the
missions of both Federal end users and prime contractors.
With tight travel budgets and time sensitive program
constraints, web-based training programs serve as a
cost-effective answer to these problems. QMIND will
not only reduce the cost of creating government e-learning
programs, it will increase the level of collaboration
among government agencies, contractors, and subject
matter experts.”
As a secure, ASP-hosted application, QMIND enables
distributed government teams, even when spread among
multiple agencies and contracting firms, to collaborate
on design plans, storyboarding, media file creation
and review, multimedia production, and project management.
QMIND's servers are hosted in high security, high performance
data centers, with a guaranteed 100% up time.

Startup QMIND introduces an “on
demand”, web-based multimedia development platform
targeting professional e-learning and marketing design
teams, for whom collaboration is critical. Portland,
OR, November 14, 2005 - QMIND, Inc. today announced
the release of the multimedia industry’s first
“on demand” Design Collaboration Platform.
Following the leaked memos from Microsoft and Salesforce.com
last week, the QMIND announcement adds to the increasing
buzz around “on demand” software.
The QMIND Design Collaboration Platform enables geographically
distributed teams to collaboratively author and produce
rich, interactive multimedia content. The Internet-based
platform, which requires no software to install, is
targeted at project teams within corporations and creative
agencies who create e-learning, marketing, and advertising
content. QMIND offers the hosted platform on a monthly
per user subscription basis.
QMIND, a startup in Portland, Oregon, is a pioneer
in collaborative multimedia authoring solutions. Today’s
announcement is the company’s first public statement
on the Design Collaboration Platform. Prior to today
the company has been quietly selling the platform to
multimedia design agencies since September.
In the product release announcement, CEO Michael Berkley
stated that “QMIND is generating a lot of grassroots
excitement because it alleviates very real pain in the
creative process that until now has been unaddressed.
Producing storyboards, programming Flash content, streamlining
the review and approval process, and managing projects
with teams spread among different organizations and
around the world -- these were costly challenges our
customers once faced. Now they are no longer challenges.”
Commenting on the significance of the recent news out
of Microsoft, Berkley notes: “Microsoft’s
move to an on demand model clearly underscores their
belief in the market’s acceptance of hosted, subscription-based
software. People are realizing that hosted software
vendors like QMIND who leverage high-performance data
centers are fully equipped to protect the security and
privacy of corporate data and assets.”
QMIND will publicly unveil the Design Collaboration
Platform this week in San Francisco, at the eLearning
Guild’s DevLearn 2005 Conference.
